Kevin Swan brings both passion and an understanding of the startup and entrepreneurial environments to Connect13. Always looking for innovative technical solutions to help advertisers reach and resonate with their target demographic, Kevin ensures that Connect13 is on the cutting edge of emerging online opportunities available to Canadian marketers.

As President and COO of Nexopia, Kevin has been a leader in developing Canada’s largest social networking site for youth. Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of social media from the trenches has allowed Kevin to help transition Nexopia from a grass roots social network into a Canadian leader in the next generation of social media platforms. Kevin has a strong passion for both people and building teams and his expertise in these areas have allowed Nexopia to emerge as a sustainable company in highly competitive field.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. In 2007 Kevin became a Managing Partner of Cardinal Venture Partners, a venture capital fund that invests in early stage technology companies. Cardinal Venture Partners has partners in both Western Canada and the Silicon Valley.

When Kevin isn’t reading up on the latest technology or social media blogs, he loves to spend time with his wife and three kids, wakeboarding, playing hockey, and snowboarding.

Fun Fact: For over 15 years Kevin worked with his family's apiary (bee farm). During that time, Kevin estimates that he acquired over a thousand bee stings! As one of Canada’s largest honey producers, with annual production reaching one million pounds of honey a year, Kevin certainly learned an appreciation for hard work and an understanding that success does not come easily.
